sometimes beer and cameras and roundtable discussions lead one to the pursuance of tasty delectibles - hunting for the perfect uncooked souvlaki at the St Lawrence Market.

in attendance

- brendan (late show is better than no show)
- jeff (zooming from super wide to wide)
- dave b (north of steeles the beer is cheap and the cows are tipped)
- frank (man with a mat)
- yours truly (more questions than answers)

sometimes dave naps

There are moments in everyone's day when they are caught napping; in this case, it's the vivitar 283's fault ;-)

his camera; my beer

Frank's YashicaMat LM with a pint well on it's way to being finished of Kawartha Lakes Raspberry Wheat beer.

the 'mat

Frank's YashicaMat goes "solo" (after I grabbed my beer...)

living in a wedge

There's that dang building again. One of the "oddities"/"niceties" of Toronto. Wedged right in the middle of Front St. at Javis St. it kind of suits the neighbourhood...

frankly. . .

A lot can be said about a man with two cameras who looks like a private detective . . . most of it though is best left unsaid.

walk like a PDMLer

Brendan is the only one in this photo not fiddling with his equipment ( I'm talkin' bout the cameras here folks.. the cameras !!).

that's when the tree joined

Nothing's weirder when you're walking down the street and out of nowhere a tree decides to join you in your walk (I'm not sure what Frank's doing in the left hand side of this photo... but... let's give him some privacy..) ;-)

jeff takes aim

It's Jeff's LX that got me thinking that maybe another K-mount body might not be such a bad idea after all....

jeff fires

The zoom also made it difficult for me not to re-consider my lack there of. Basically my prime lenses have made me happy but the convenience of a zoom in the right situation is something I should consider.

dangling meat

Nothing says "come and get it !" like long tubular meats dangling from a variety of hooks. Gets a guy feeling all squirmish . . . let's keep moving on folks. . .

Aperture: 2.8
Shutter: ? (1/60 ?)

reminds me of an elvis movie

And just like that, Elvis broke out his guitar and he started singing and twitching around the bonfire while we had to sit there and shuck clams all day. . . he got all the credit and all the girls. . . I got a pair of hands that smelt like, well, clams.

next PDML adventure ?

There's talk of something going on in the north/east area of the city - after all, the last two have accomodated the downtown and close to downtown folk.

Keep in touch and you can come on out and talk, drink, eat, take photos, drool at other folks equipment and in general have a nice leisurely afternoon with people that aren't nearly as pretentious as some of those "other" camera mailing lists :-)

More Info:

PDML site's got all the links and info you can use if you own or want to own or have owned or don't even think of owning Pentax equipment.
